A lovely invitation and reflections

Hello awesome people!

We are leaning into the construction of our new spectacle: ATALHOS. Maybe you’ve already read something about it on our social networks, where we’ve already introduced the team that is part of the project, we’ve given spoilers… Maybe you’ve even watched the drafts of this work, when we’ve performed a presentation of the creative process at SESC Ribeirão Preto, in 2018. Yes, we returned to this creative process three years after starting. We have learned something about the time, deadlines and resources to make a new work born and, on this path, we find patience and consistency, in the face of despair that also moves us. Among so many crossings, something unprecedented: a pandemic. ATALHOS is a work crossed by these pandemic times, without making the pandemic its central theme.

ATALHOS can be a lot of things that we will discover with you as we are performing. It has been a refinement of perception, for us. We have some conceptual and affective bases, that guide our path and choices. They are words, images, colors, sounds… We make room for experimentation. Absolutely everything that makes up the scene affects us and has been thought along with the choreographic developments: floor, costumes, lighting, soundtrack. We are coming from a desire to engage in deep dialogues with each element that makes up a scene.

In this desire to be close, even virtually, we will hold an online chat on November 27th (Saturday), at 2 pm, to talk about this creative process and its links with cultural production. As always, we want to get closer to the audience and above all, tap dancers who want to get their ideas off the paper and those who already organize themselves as tap groups and companies. In this meeting, we are going to enter important points such as the construction of the wooden platform, our way of leaving our comfort zone to create tap dancing, how we made this creation possible through the “ProAC Edital” and whatever else arises from the meeting with those present.
